Sails of Glory Sub-Forums

As suggested, this is a thread for the salty types to discuss which sub-forums, we would like here.... mostly similar to the WoG WW1 and WW2 with a nautical flair.  We did have the following on the Anchorage:

Ahoy Mates! - Game & site news

Welcome Aboard - for new sailors

The Chippy Shop - counterpart to the Hobby Room

Wardroom - naval counterpart to the Officer's Club

Do we need/want separate sub-forums for Polls, Contests and Doncaster?

The Anchorage had sub-forums to the Campaign Discussions for the 2014-2019 Solo Campaigns.  I'm not sure that's needed since we're unlikely to have the same activity for that and all of a yearly campaign's worth of scenarios can be in a single thread.  Anyway, I'm happy to start uploading the AAR I've done which are for the 2014 to mid-2016 campaigns.

Sorry, Rob...Admiral, sir... I had meant that I'm ready to up load my AAR ONLY once the sub-forums and threads are organized.

I have now instigated the forums which I think are useful at the moment. Thanks for your input Paul.

I have omitted the sections on Polls ,contests, and Doncaster for now as they were not being activated on the old site. If the need arises I will include them at a later date. Polls can be inserted into an opened thread if the author so wishes.

@Flying Officer Kyte Admiral, can i afford a proposal? I am really happy there are other subforums here in one place (so easy to follow both my beloved games), but sometimes I am lost in thread navigations. May I suggest using a prefix tags for SoG subforum? I am using these prefixes for all my threads (you can see it in Prague Con section for example) and they are visible on Activity List. I do not have such informal authority as you have, may be you can appeal on navel officers? I can prepare a short How To post about using them if it would help.

Although we use very few less areas of discussiuon than the Airforce, it may be worth considering Daniel. As soon as I can find out how to make the Admiralty Office available only to the members of the Board.

I will then get their opinions on it.

As a member of the Board, I'm inclined to support it... it's another tool, and whether regularly used or not more tools available seldom hurts. (He says, while gunsmithing with ladies' nail files...)

Depending on the costs of having it, better to have the option available and not need it than need it and not have it.

 

EDIT: At least I THINK I was a mamber of the Admiralty on the old site... my rank has not been restored here.

As far as I am concerned the ranks are the same as for the old site DB. I will check your file and make sure it is added, but it may still not show up as the Gold membership seems to override all other titles excepting admin who only get the wings instead of Gold status shown.

I just posted an update on the Boardgame Geek website letting folks know that the Sails of Glory forums have moved here as a sub forum of Wings of War. I don't know if it will bring on some new members or not, but I thought folks on those BGG forums should be aware of the transition. Thanks!
