Awww. I do not have any use whatsoever for two more D.H.2's, since that is a considerable expense, however, I could use more Fokker A.III's or Morane Saulnier N's.:hmm: Pity the contest is not for the any of the four types in series 5. :(

An interesting idea, this one. I'll pass (I already have five DH.2s, and my disposable wonga is going on other stuff this month) but it will be good to see how many entries you get for this.

The most challenging - and the least exciting - of the set to repaint. There's lots of opportunities for the Moranes, in French, British and Russian service. Possibly even more for the Halberstadts. A few for the Fokkers. But the DH2s? CDL, grey, PC10. Different serials. Some markings on struts indicating flight that's it. OK, let's look at A flight, 24 Sqdn. Hawker's mob. Red and White striped struts and red wheel hubs on A flight. Sometimes red numbers. 5998 - 2 interpretations of Hawker's aircraft: 6000 - all grey fuselage 6011 - all PC10 fuselage 5967 CDL and PC10 Well, what about other flights and squadrons? 32 Sqdn B flight - single small circle on wheel hub 7932 7907 32 Sqdn A flight is more colourful. That has a circle and a dot. 29 sqdn - blue hubs, sometimes blue numbers too. Ok, let's look at the rigging.... Ah. Perhaps not.

Hey, no one said this would not be a challenging painting contest. Like the Giant contest, I think few will enter, but that just increase the chance of winning for those that do.

Hmmmm... I'm thinking of X flight - 3 DH2's from 111 Sqdn that provided Lawrence with his air support in Arabia. Or possibly this one, thought to be the last DH2 to have a victory in the air, fighting in Sinai. I have no doubt that within the hour all that would be left of the aeroplane would be the shadow and even then someone would be trying to pry that off the ground.").
:( Sadly I will have to pass on this one as well. I have done my Shapeways ones & have Andrews Ares one so further DH-2's are unnecessary & I am waiting for those loverly new Tripes, Aviatics & SSW's.

Serious question; does it have to be a REAL unit/flight, or can we get creative? As Zoe has pointed out, not a lot of options for interesting schemes :) Related question, how long to post to Australia if I order them from AA in the coming week? Dave
