A bit of background for context - Just under 15% of my shipments were not reaching customers. I need a shipping method that offers a tracking function to help reduce the problem.
Welcome to paper catalog processes on the internet!
My GoDaddy online store allows me to choose from a few shipping options but it does not allow for different options between domestic and international orders. By offering US Postal Service as the shipping option to domestic customers, I am limited to offering US Postal service to international customers. I cannot offer USPS to one and a flat rate to the other.
The problem is that at the same time, the webstore will not allow me to offer anything lower than Priority International services, for international customers. Those services start at about $40.
PayPal and the USPS don't care if I send international orders via USPS 1st Class International, starting around $20, but the GoDaddy store won't offer that service.
So far, the only workaround that I've got is one that has international customers emailing me their requests, me generating a total cost and sending a PayPal invoice, payment, and then shipping the order. The only thing the store does at this point is to serve as a catalog.
I have thought about moving to other platforms but with nearly a thousand different products, I don't see myself reentering all of the product information.
