  1. None of the links from the main forum screen work. All say I dont not have permission to view.
  2. Why do I have permission to access certain files but am barred from accessing others?
  3. Sure is taking a lot of getting used to.
  4. Before I start I must give a big thank you, well that is not quite enough and does not do the work the justice it requires, to Rob. He produced the terrain and the ships and the aircraft for wave 2. All I had to do was paint up wave 1! That only happened in the last 2 months. Rob has been at this for nearly 10 months. His eye for detail and accuracy was second to none. Sourcing ships from all over the globe to ensure we had accurate depictions of the ships present in the harbour. The bridge into the Mare Piccolo actually worked! Here are the pics I took, the befores and the during. PRE GAME PHOTOS HMS Illustrious turns into the wind Wave 1 on deck, start your engines Some views of the harbour during daylight. Wave 1 Pilots THE VIEW OF TARANTO AT NIGHT THE ATTACK BY WAVE 1 THE RESULT Primary targets, the battleships: Littorio: Sunk (initially 1 torpedo hit, then Pete took it out with a fantastic double destroyed card which took out the next 10 boxes) Vittorio Veneto: badly damaged (4 hits) Caio Dulio: Not hit Andrea Doria: Out of action for at least 12 months (5 hits) Conte de Cavour: badly damaged (4 hits) Giulio Cesare: Not hit Oil Terminal: damaged (2 hits) Dry Docks: destroyed (6 hits) Secondary Targets: Cruisers Pola: Sunk Goriza: Sunk Fiume: badly damaged (2 hits) Trento: no hits Trieste: No hits Bolzano: badly damaged (2 hits) Albruzzi: No hits Garabaldi: No hits Zara: No hits Seaplane Tender Guiseppe Miraglia: No hits Destroyers Carducci: Badly damaged (1 hit) Alfieri: Sunk Oriani: No hits Gioberti: No hits Lampo: No hits Baleno: No hits Fulmine: No hits Folgore: No hits Libeccio: No hits Grecale: No hits Scirocco: No hits Maestrale: No hits (Yes Rob painted up 28 ships). Out of 21 swordfish, 1 was shot down (Ian) and 1 made it back with only 1 damage point remaining (Peter aka Cavendish) Apologies to wave 2 but I was that busy I didn't take any pics. Hoping someone else did. Great 2 games, great players and again, without Rob it wouldn't have been the spectacular game it was. A final well done to Tim, surrounded by flak (3) and a searchlight, flew through with minimal damage and launched his torpedo. Surely deserving of a medal.
  5. Great summation of the action Pete. Wave 1 were just pipped points wise, but wave 1 were the only ones to sink a battleship. Well done to all participants.
  6. I can now confirm there will be 2 for the Saturday night meal Chris, apologies if that screws numbers up.
  7. Wave 1 ready for take off.
  8. Slot 3 and 4 could I be included in Algeciras please?
  9. How big a blue cloth/mat Rob? I'll see if I still have one. Chris H got my last one.
  10. Job completed. 144 decals nearly killed me!
  11. Ok chaps, bally hoo of a jobbie with the repaint and stencilled but wave 1 is ready to roll, the rear gunner who shall not be named hadn't jumped ship he was in the head (toilet for all you brill cream boys).
  12. Hadn't thought about the goodies, apologies Rob.
  13. Rob did you send me 12 or 11 props? Either way do you have a spare you could bring to Doncaster please? 12 swordfish on the flight deck, yours makes 13.
  14. For Taranto, historically wave 2 only had 8 aircraft, for the game this can be increased. So can wave 1. If there are more that want to take part.
  15. The squadron was "re-formed" on 10 January 1941 during World War II, when No. 431 (General Reconnaissance) Flight RAF, briefly re-designated as No. 1431 Flight RAF, on Malta became No. 69 Squadron. It carried out strategic reconnaissance missions mainly using Martin Marylands until May 1942 when Spitfires began to carry out all reconnaissance missions. These were later supplemented by Martin Baltimores for shipping reconnaissance and anti-submarine patrols until April 1944 when the squadron returned to the UK.[4] Adrian Warburton was a notable pilot who served with the squadron during its service on Malta. The crew of a Martin Baltimore of No. 69 Squadron disembark from their aircraft at Luqa, Malta, following a reconnaissance sortie, June 1942 No. 69 Squadron re-assembled at RAF Northolt on 5 May 1944 as part of No. 34 Wing of the RAF' Second Tactical Air Force equipped with Vickers Wellington XIIIs[5] for night reconnaissance duties, beginning operations on the eve of D-Day, using flares to locate enemy troop movements. In September the squadron moved to France and Belgium until 7 May 1945. It disbanded on 7 August 1945.[3] On 8 August 1945, No. 613 Squadron at Cambrai-Epinoy, France, was renumbered No. 69 Squadron, flying Mosquito FB.VI fighter-bombers until it was again disbanded on 31 March 1946.[5] The next day, 180 Squadron was renumbered No. 69 at Wahn again equipped with Mosquito light bombers until again disbanded on 6 November 1947.[2] The squadron flew from RAF Gutersloh in Germany briefly from 1954. No. 69 had been reformed on 5 May 1954 at RAF Laarbruch as a Canberra reconnaissance unit and remained in Germany until renumbered 39 Squadron on 1 July 1958.
