  1. Thanks for the kind words. Building the Martian Machines was a Hoot!
  2. I have celebrated the arrival of my new Dorniers with a happy snap.
  3. Hi all Some photos of my 3D Libyan Desert terrain mats. I call it Wadi Y’know. The dunes are made using different techniques, some sculpted from modeling paste others made from caulking material and others made from thickened gesso and paint. There are over 2400 tiny palm trees I made from tiny nails and charged electrostatic grass fibers. I think I have some permanent nerve damage in my right thumb from making them 😉. This board was made for a huge demo game at Little Wars Melbourne in 2019. It measures 4 feet wide x 14 feet long and includes a 6 feet section of the Mediterranean and coastline which featured a Cruel Seas game demo running at the same time. We even sent some Bristol Beaufort after the German transport ships for a torpedo attack using Andreas beta torpedo rules with some homespun crossover rules. There were 5 different overlapping scenarios going on during the day. All aircraft and terrain are from my collection some painted by me others painted by Leslie Applebee and are manufactured by either Ares Games or AIM. Buildings are by Brigade Models and a friends 3D drawings and printer. Ships are from my friend Antony Chandlers collection.
  4. My first of 3 planned B25D Mitchell gunship builds. I used the 1:200 Trumpeter kit as a base. The clear styrene used certainly increases the level of difficulty for 56 year old eyes.
  5. Here are some photos of WoG games run by Xen and myself At PAX Melbourne 2019 PAX Melbourne Is a three day event that draws approximately 30,000 through the door from all over Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia. Xen and I have been organizing Participation games of Wings of Glory, Tripods & Triplanes and Battlestar Galactica for the last two years.
  6. Hi everyone, Well the picture came second and as Monse says, “I was beaten by the forces of Mordor”. Three cheers to Ares and Roberto for running the comp, three cheers to all the voters, there were a lot of them. I would just like to take the time to say thank you to everyone that took the time and effort to vote and get me through to the finals, it has been humbling so thanks folks. I’d like to give out an honorable mention to two people that brought the competition to the notice of a wider community and those two are Leslie Applebee (Uncle Les) and our Monse Thanks guys you both went above and beyond and I really appreciate your “spamming” efforts. Many more Cheers to you two as you both helped my voting score look much more respectable than it would otherwise have been. Again everyone, thanks.

    3D Sculpted Target Cards

This album contains images of completed and WIP target card masters
  8. I keep mine in fishing tackle boxes and those are stored on a shelf, so the planes are never on display but only come out when they are being used. The tackle boxes are transparent so its easy to see whats inside without actually opening the box.

    Consoles

I have used the WoG consoles when I played my last 6 games. I laminated them before I used them and tell the truth I actually prefer them now to the larger thicker WoW versions. The reason I changed over from my trusty WoW consoles is that I didn't put them away properly and they all got warped which makes them very difficult to use. They are stored flat now but I will have to wait a while before the warping is reversed.
  10. Don't get me wrong Rob, I love every single piece of my collection and my "realisation" comments in the above post are not from shame or surprise but are just tongue in cheek. No I can honestly say I am a proud ambassador to all out of control hoarders worldwide. LOL! Its just funny when you know that at a glance that the collection is big, but to actually sit down and count it all to find out how big it really is is another thing and I have to say it is bigger than I thought it was. I also have a nagging feeling that there might actually be some more in a box I haven't counted yet...............
  11. I'm in serious trouble! I have 6 1/200 Nexus WW2 models. The rest of my aircraft are in 1/144 scale, Nexus, Ares, F-Toys and various kits either plastic or resin, both WW1, WW2 and Korea. Grand total in hand 297! This does not include 3 Ares WW1 planes I just bought from Xen last night. which will round me out at exactly 300 on Wednesday after the post arrives. I have still got Series 6 and 7 to complete and then there's a few new schemes from 2A and then Series 8 comes along. I knew I had a couple of planes but I never counted them until this afternoon. I'm just glad I haven't had to do a cost expenditure of the hobby. as there are more non aircraft kits and pieces I have bought or made for this game consisting of maps, ships, buildings and other terrain objects and features. Then there are all the storage containers that house the models, the shelves and cupboards, the wargames room/shed that houses it all................. the glue, tools and paint................ sitting on the workbench..................... Just think, when I die, it will all be sold for a buck a piece at a garage sale by well meaning grand children......... I also have 56 X-Wing minis. 32 Crimson Skies Clix and 12 Ral Partha planes for a later WoG conversion project 32 1/144 F-Toys StarWars fighters part of a shelved WoW project when X-Wing came out. 14 Titanium diecast Battlestar Galactica Colonial Vipers and Cylon Raiders for another WoG project
  12. "I come from the land down under, where beer flows and men chunder" Or more precisely Geelong which is in the South Western region of Victoria, Australia. 38 10' 35"S 144 20' 17"E Altitude 69m
  13. Bring 'em on! Those M5 colour schemes look beautiful. I just love WW1 for the colourful schemes, beats WW2 camo's hands down.
  14. I love playing with Camels and Snipes but if I was to choose just one it would have to be the SE5a. Good all rounder that can get you out of trouble as quick as you can get yourself into it. Like Hedeby I also have been waiting since the game came out for the Bristol F2b, I've got two so far and I'm yet to take it up for a spin, maybe on Tuesday, Pip?
  15. A collection of photos of my aircraft, repaints and some other WoW related modelling projects
