  1. Whatho chaps and chapettes It's been a long time between drinks, as I was reminded during Hardest Day commemorations just been. So imaging finding this cheeky character staggering out on the apron, might be the answer to some of today's wheezes! Terry “In the wild world where chemtrails meet business deal, Otto, fueled by hazy beer dreams, acquired his cockpit during a tipsy chat with Brucey the hippy. Brucey exclaimed, imagine flying high above the clouds, leaving beer infused chemtrails of joy! Otto, never one to shy away from an idea, chuckled, I picked the right week to buy a cockpit and the wrong week to quit hazy ipas. And so, the skies became a canvas for tipsy tales and frothy flights of fancy. See you soon in the Epic taproom”
  2. Cheers to all for 2024! New Year’s Resolution is to play more often to better judge turns, and not let those Boom Cards spoil a perfectly good fight! Terry
  3. Every day’s a learning day at this squadron, and having a pale hazy to learn some local history is just the drop I need! Matching the spirit, if not the speed, of a post-WW2 trainer, this lively drop had nice complexities that would make “Following WWII, Urenui Fighter Pilot, Harold Newton, returned to England to collect his sweetheart, only to discover that in his absence, she had married a Naval Officer. Deterred by a boat journey home. purchased a 75HP American Ercoupe Aircraft from a trade show Belgium. Naming her Petite Pegasus, it took him just 18 days fly home, setting distance records along the way. This Low Powered Session Hazy sends a lofty salute to Harold and his Petite Pegasus.” Flt Lt Harold Newton DFC, and ZK-AQX, here’s to you!
  4. Master 11 in a WW1 The Red Baron challenged my WW2 Spitfire to a duel - TRB taking WW1 damage cards while my sleek Spitfire drew WW2 damage chits. No jams, no mercy, but a whole lot of fun! The Red Baron could do a tight turn and get inside my faster plane, giving the Spitfire the bash; but we both fell out of the sky together. We then swapped decks, TRB flying on an A deck, the Spitfire on a D deck. I ended up …. ‘toast’! Wished I had taken a few snaps but the action and draws were really intense, plus it was a fun maths exercise:-) Terry
  5. Nice one Wayne I really enjoy your reporting, its just the ticket! Hope your landing grounds are keeping dry! Terry
  6. Well Done Andrzej thank you for being able to be positive and doing something constructive for those in need.
  7. Dear Andy - thank you for doing this. A small donation from your wingman Terry sent. Blessings and Go Well.
  8. Dom - these are a joy to behold! Go Well for your future endeavours! Terry
  9. I like that idea Flash - I'll have to read up some more on the Dowding System and how it was used in practice. Possibly for my solo games a small block holding a marker showing altitude at that stage. Nice! Now, if I can just convince OC Home Comd SWMBO to be a WAAF for a day ...
  10. Hello all I quite like seeing how an event unfolds and also the feel of a Battle of Britain plotting table when flying into battle. Where will the raiders go? Who will get shot at first? All that good stuff that makes a game 'atmospheric'. So I've made some plotting arrows to show the course of the game. Colours follow the sector clock sequence of red, yellow, blue, and repeat. To prevent clutter and overload, I place the arrow behind the baseplate at the end of a round (that is, after two or three turns). So in this test, a Do17 raids a coastal port with a Spitfire sent to patrol the coast, starting diagonally opposite each other on a mat. The plan is for the Do17 approach the town, bomb, then flee. The Spitfire heads towards the coast at low speed, and doesn't see the raiders until too late (as it was over two shooting rulers away). What I learned from this I didn't get the closing speeds right!, and just how tight a turn the Spitfire can do! Next will be a deeper raid towards an inland city, with a probing reconnaissance first and two RAF flights. I see the arrows helping me keep track of progress, especially if SHMBO wants the plotting board, I mean the dining table back. For the record, once the Spitfire came within two rulers it went straight into the Do17, then circled around taking a few hits before giving it a parting shot. It'll need a few patches in places. The Do17 crew achieved their target's Victory Points and will make it back across the Channel. And thank you to Max Headroom for the card base, they're really great! Terry
  11. I glue two pieces of cardboard from breakfast cereal packets (printed sides together) and then glue the printed paper sheet to it. I have a guillotine to make nice straight edges, but not a Corner Punch, which sounds like a great present for the person who has everything! [but more planes and another mat would be nice, hint hint Santa!] I invested in some spray adhesive - works much better than a "glue stick" although this makes paper hobbies an outside enjoyment! Terry
  12. Keep Safe Gary! These Covid times do strange things to people. And you did the right thing, in my book. Terry
  13. Kia ora Rhys - looks like you're having fun at Level 4 Lockdown bubble. Excellent! As others will attest to, this is an addictive game - so be sure to budget accordingly! Have fun! Terry
  14. Go Well Baz You were very encouraging of me as a player, answering questions by PM, and drew me into WW1 with great stories of WW1, like the kiwi ace "Grid" Caldwell. May your family be surrounded by blessings snd love from all Terry
  15. Scénario absolument fantastique, j'espère qu'ils rentreront tous à la maison!
