  1. Balloon Busting: Knights of the Air mission 3b.

    Nadine,

No doubt you are concerned with the strange penmanship you find this letter written in. It is with great sympathy that I have to inform you that Kiefer von Loganstein did not return from his sortie today. To save you some worry, I will say up front that Kiefer is alive, but has been captured by the enemy and has serious wounds.

The last mission handed down from high command was to take out observation balloons in our sector. This is always a very

  2. Dawn Patrol: Knights of the Air mission 2b.

    Dear Nadine,

It appears that the change in weather has brought a change to our effectiveness in the air. Our latest sortie was most successful. The morning started out clear and crisp and our flight of 4 aircraft where up at altitude and crossing the lines as dawn broke. Just inside their lines we spotted a formation of 3 below us. With the sun being low this early in the morning, neither side could gain a surprise. We turned towards each other about the same time and shortly ...

    Dear Nadine,

I must apologize for my lateness in the letter. I hope it's delay did not cause you any undo stress. These last few weeks have seen a lot of contact with the enemy.

OK, so 1st up and bit of an apology. I'm getting fuzzy in the head and earlier I did say the font for the decal lettering was Ariel, well I lied it's really Blockschrift für Flugzeuge. Get this font, not only is it correct but comes with a few crosses too. :)

The Micro Sol did just what it said on the tin, several applications, just applying wiht a brush and letting it soak under the affected decals has done the trick. They still don't look so good but at least they're now firmly ...

  5. Painting the Helmut Ju88A (Part 5)

Decal time!! This is the bit I love because the model really comes to life :)

Having cut up the crosses supplied with the model I proceeded to soak the 1st one and waited for it to get slidey. And waited and waited and waited. After 3-4 minutes I pulled it out and pulled the backing paper apart, it was very thick indeed but split in layers easily enough. Another minute or so and it went of fine.

With the subsequent ones I soaked them briefly before splitting the backing ...
