The Wright Flight took to the air again on May 11th at Dragon's Guild Hall in Beavercreek Ohio.
In attendance were Jay (JAYCRF450), Marc, Eric, Bob, Chris, Ray (The G Dog), Bill (Old Guy), Matt, Darryl (preadhead), Kaz, Robert, Sean, and myself.
We had two tables of flying fun going.
This month's them was Sopwiths. We had Sopwith Pups, Triplanes, and 1/2 Strutters versus Various German Aircraft.
Here are the pictures from the table I was at.
First, we started out with two Sopwith Triplanes and a 1/2 Strutter versus three German Two Seaters. By the way, this was a BAD idea for the British! Probably shouldn't to this again.
Here is Jay's corrected Ares model. He redid the wings. A very amazing job.
Here are the Germans. A Roland, Rumpler, and a Halberstadt.
As usual, we meet up in the middle of the table.
I think some of the two seater pilots need to go to pilot school again. Two flew off the table.
The unfortunate Sopwith 1/2 Strutter took a Boom! We used the optional critical hit deck. Lost three altitude bands before the engine restarted.
Can the last German get the Recon?
The Sopwith Triplanes are going to try and prevent it.
The Sopwith 1/2 Strutter fled the table. Had only one point of structure left!
Well, the Halberstadt got the recon.
Can the Halberstadt get away?
Here come the Triplanes to intercept.
Oh...the unexpected turn!
I think it is going to get away!
The Halberstadt gets home!
Totals:
Germans: (2) Planes fly off board (POW)
Got the recon
British: (1) Plane fled from damage
The Germans got the objective but lost two planes. I would give them a minor/marginal victory.
So, we thought we would try this again.
Same planes, same setup.
The initial machine gun exchange did not go well for the British.
Our first collision of the day!
Can the Triplanes protect the front?
Well, not if you catch fire!
Well, one of the Triplanes fled the table with excessive damage. Survived the fire, but was pretty burnt!
The British were extra flammable today!
Well, the third British plane was shot down!
Well, this was a complete German Victory.
Fun games! Had a great day!
