Would hate to see you up against a wall Neil!
I can bring some pease pudding, will be the tinned version if that's acceptable and ham is no problem, can buy it on the way in on Friday morning. Normally served in 'Baps' if I remember correctly. How many Baps should I bring? Just have to remember to bring a tin opener!!
Feel free Reg to bring what you are able to. Too much and it might get wasted, I normally bring 10 stotties cut into 6 sandwich size bits, ham and pease pudding to fill. Up to you, but for 1 year I am sure the masses can go without.
See you on the Dark Side......
Where I come from (South London in the 40's and early 50's) Pease Pudding was served with saveloys. It was revelation to me that North Northern people had it in a sandwich which they cunningly disguised by calling it a Stottie. But as I discovered at Doncaster 2015 and again last year they are very moreish. Where can you get Pease Pudding not in a tin then?
Have we got a beer plan organised yet? A run across the car park to the supermarche peut etre?

To change direction from food to weather: as I'm making my packing list(s), what temperatures should I expect in mid-September for Southern and Northern England?

Imagine it like a really cold fall in Ohio No winter jacket needed, but at least the hall where we are going to play will be cold (personally: T-shirt + shirt + fleece sweatshirt + tea).
And of course, an umbrella!
And be sure that our English friends will have just short sleeves when you will be as close to source of heat as possible - bloody halfvikings!
A view from the games room Karl. Dress and drink appropriately

Oh, we moved Con to Gibraltar?
Pack for the best but expect the worst!
See you on the Dark Side......
I think he might have been referring to "Rob's Spear", with you off gadding again and the conversation about pointy ends etc.
See you on the Dark Side......
Well it is known as Sunny Donny - and for the past few years the weather has been glorious for our gathering. That said the forecast for this year is about 16 degrees and cloudy, no rain but hardly a need for the desert fatigues either, and this is England and Yorkshire which means the forecasts are useless and whatever it says it will probably rain !!!
There is a reason why England is a 'Green and Pleasant Land' - its always bloody raining
Never Knowingly Undergunned !!
Forecast not much better for the North East. Inddor at Doncaster Polo Shirts are normally ok.
Outdoors a rain coat and a fleece if raining and cold.
Inbetween sensible layers.
Neil
See you on the Dark Side......
I was about to say spot on chaps, but maybe that is tempting fate too much.

Half the Dutch wing also landed yesterday! Lots of delay due to lovely weather but arrived safely. Wandering in the town after a full English breakfast before starting the 30min walk to the venue. My number if anything +31647624874.

My thanks to the 'Wings Widows' for their company. I rarely have a chance for a 'girly shop' as usually I am out acting as a guide for Rob. The chatter was fun!
See you again, next year, Prague or Doncaster.
Eileen
Jill says she enjoyed it as well, Eileen. In fact it was the girly company that made Jill want to go to Prague again. So, as the song goes, "what Lola wants, Lola gets"

That's great news Steve.Another chance to watch Jill slide back and forth on the slippery tram seats

Daniel knows of a lovely town to visit a short train ride away. A day out would be good.
With 2 sons and no daughters the only time I get to 'girly' shop is when I visit my niece in Bristol.
Eileen
Well it certainly didn't show this weekend Steve.

The Albert Ball Monument.
Karl places a poppy cross on behalf of the American Airmen alongside the 100th Anniversary tributes to Albert's death.
A request fulfilled.
Sad to say I failed to get a shot of Karl on his Harley when we visited that emporium.
More will follow.

Great to see these pictures of Karl, Rob - looks like you're giving him the full treatment
Much continued fun on your adventures!
All the best,

Karl and Kiwi at Leeds Armoury.
Very kindly Andy drove Karl and myself up to Leeds Armoury on the Wednesday of his visit.
Here are a few glimpses of his day out.
Size don't matter.
But quantity does.
Never shoot into the Sun.
See you missed me.
We take advice from one of the knowledgeable staff who then took us around several interesting areas of the museum
Karl surveys his latest purchase.
How will he get that in his hand baggage?
Meanwhile I take my afternoon nap.
Painting what in 10mm. You are joking.
A touch of the Orient.
Just something I was asked to photograph.
A Diaorama in 1: 1 scale just for the purists among us.
Oh yes he did!
And he did too.
Karl has the last word on the day.

Another great round of pictures, Rob I bet Karl really enjoyed the Armoury, knowing his interest in Things Medieval.
So this was on the Wednesday before Doncaster? Busy time
All the best,
Matt
Can we book a later table at restaurant then so we can enjoy Friday and Sat gaming g to the full?
See you on the Dark Side......
