Sweet. Now I'm torn, should I do mine as originally planned for the French or start a Russian Air Force?
Nice paint job
That one is Serbian. The Russians used the same configuration. The French had a hotchkiss rather than madsen gun - and fortunately Kampfflieger makes the Deperdussin TT in 3 varieties, unarmed, madsen, and hotchkiss. So it depends which version you have. If it has a madsen gun, then purists would say it should be Russian or Serb. If hotchkiss, then French.
Lovely plane Zoe!
My Deperdussin will be Russian - eventually.......................
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Nicely done
That looks really good, Zoe!
What colour do you use for CDL..........looks great.
Did the Russian/Serbian TT's see any action in the war?
Colour - spray ivory export brand paint. Then mix of white and yellow oxide to match for touchups, shading.
Both Serbian and Russian TTs saw combat in 1915, and the Russian ones in 1916 too. The few remnants may have been taken out of training schools in 1919-1920 when the Soviets were using anything that flew. Records are scant, they were probably all scrapped by mid 1917. The Serb ones were all gone by the end of the Serb evacuation in Autumn 1915, having seen active service against the Turks and Bulgarians in the first and second Balkan wars in 1913 (unarmed), and later against Austria in 1914(armed).
