New Ray 1/200 Republic P-47. The N plane has had a lot of detail added to enhance the original. The P plane is almost a complete repaint everything except the tail.

The aircraft with the purple nose and stars is very impressive even without the orange and yellow.
Very striking and well executed work as usual Tony.
Rob.
They look 'the business' as we say over here - well done Tony
Great job on those beasts!
Great pair of "Jugs" there Tony.
Very nice work.

Very nice Jugs! Super crisp paintjobs, too!
I like the white details on the wings and tail. And the victory markers are just superb. Good job Lloyd
I can see my education is sadly lacking. In no respect did I expect a pair of Thunderbolts to be coined as Jugs.
Even such a fine pair as these are not at all like jugs.

Greetings!
A friend of me give me as a present a few minis of the same scale than my WoW/WoG planes. One of them was a P-47B Thunderbolt. Unfortunately, I don't know the mini manufacturer... if somebody knows it please inform to me about it.
I have found in Spanish forum a friend that paint minis at a good price. He has sent my Thunderbolt painted a week ago and I'm very impressed because he has made a great job!
I bought some accesories from aerodrome to complete them and, here you have the final results. I hope you like it!
I selected A7-B P-47D-30-RA S/N 44-33221 "Slick Chick" flown by Lt. Col. Frank Perego, 368th FG Commander. Here you have some photos together my P-51D "The Hawk-eye Owan".
I know, that this deco is for a P-47D instead a P-47B but I love it....
Having worn out a couple of copies of Thunderbolt (by Robert S. Johnson w/Martin Caidin), I was excited to get a request to assemble and paint some Platz 1/144 scale models in 61st FS, 56th FG livery. I used Vallejo Model Color (VMC) Russian Uniform WWII (position 094) for the upper surfaces and Sky Gray (154) for the lower surfaces. HV-V, Little Chief, is decorated with decals provided in the kit. I made the decals for the nose art for Lucky II and Pengie II(HV-p and HV-M) along with the aircraft ID and serial numbers for HV-P, -M, & -O. Pilot figures are from Reviresco.
Has anyone done any Brazilian paint jobs yet? I think their AF fought from Livorno Italy in WWII.
rep guns jammed. very attractive paint scheme!
Very nice Tony. I love everything Pacific. You rarely hear that there were Thunderbolts and Mustangs there.
Great painting, everyone!
Very smooth Tony.

Sharp looking Hawk Chris!
Thanks, gents. My first WGS fighter repaint. Pretty happy with how it turned out and learned a couple lessons on it. Hopefully 6 more from the 386th squadron coming
Nice work Chris.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Very attractive colour scheme Chris.
Are well, back to my Olive Drab cammo painting I expect, although i do have a couple of hundred mini houses to be getting on with.
Oh joy!
You have brought a splash of colour into my workroom.
Thanks.

Thanks, Steve!
lol, your project is impressive, Rob.
There will be a fair mix of olive drab/metal/razorback/bubble Jugs. Some of my favorite schemes are the result of mixing parts when salvaging for repair.
@caveman: Dave, thanks for the Rep - your PMs are full so couldn't reply.

Super flight of Thunderbolts Chris. Looks like you are ready to do some serious damage!
Chris - the semi-matte aluminum with the black stain really pops on these birds.
Thanks, Mike!
Getting there, thanks, Peter. They're a lot of fun and working on monoplanes can be quite a bit easier except for the problem of "where can I hold onto this tiny plane where there isn't a decal?" lol.
Two more to do, both in drab.
Thanks, Craig. The Vallejo metal colors are very nice, they go on smoother with a brush than other metallics I've tried.
The Flory washes are great and easy to work with since they're just clay suspended in water. Just brush a bunch on, wait 15 or 20 minutes then rub it off with a Q-tip or paper towel - cotton bud or kitchen roll for our UK-based readers
If it's too dry (even days later) you can dampen the Q-tip and it will reactivate the wash and make it easy to remove. The 1/200 scale is a challenge to not remove bits from a panel line since everything is so close together, so I ordered some cotton buds for babies that are smaller so that might help focus more in the center of a panel, we'll see.
Ohhh, I kinda set you up for that one, Pete
Really nice job there Chris! Great looking planes!
Lovely Jugs! (ooerr, sounds a bit rude!)
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

The Thunderbolt is her favorite plane from when we attended air shows earning her the nickname Jughead. It’s not too legible but her family is listed along with her on the crew plate as was the custom (Sgt Lance, Pvts Grady and Chase)

P-47D, ‘Stinker Too,’ 1st Lt Rhinert Tadych, 386th Fighter Sqn, 365th FG, Chievres, Belgium, November 1944
“This 386th member also carried an extra layer of notoriety after he strafed a manure pile that visually contrasted with the snow-blanketed ground, and reported his action in the post-mission debriefing.”
Stinker Too was a composite of three P-47s, a common occurrence due to flak, explosions, rough airstrips, and shortages of parts.
