Origins 2023 Game 1 - T & T - Martian Rampage
13 players joined in attack or defend Earth. 8 human flying machines took on 5 Martian Tripods. A mix of SPAD VIIs, Albatros D.IIIs and Fokker Dr1s take on two Squids, two Locusts and a Scarab.
Earth strikes first with long range shots on a Squid’s shielded front and an unshielded Locust front.
A Jasta 2 Dr1 hits the shield of a Squid.
The Squid fires off its heat ray in anger only to hit a bewildered flock of birds.
Time to move the minis.
One Locust scores a heat ray hit while another is blocked by his Scarab buddy.
(The longer heat ray firing template was used by mistake. Great templates made by Keith but the colors are the opposite of what they should be! Thanks Keith. 😉
Plotting away around the game table.
The Albatros twins each shoot at an invader. A jam comes for naught on a shot at a shield of the Scarab.
Smoke! Martian gas finally makes an appearance.
Two planes are hit with one smoke attack.
Malachi gets a rare Martian heat ray kill!
The Scarab fires the correct heavy duty heat ray at close range.
One Locust takes a pilot hit. The Martians don’t like that. “AAK AAK AAK”.
A powered shield protects this Locust from a harassing Albatros.
Smoke gets placed in front of a pair of oncoming Dr1s.
One ignores it while the other tries in vain to avoid the black cloud.
Alex blasts off his pair of rockets. One misses but the 2nd does serious damage to the Scarab.
Lots of bullets flying at the pesky tripods.
Martian Down!!! “AAAAAK”!
A little revenge as three planes are engulfed with acrid smoke.
Even though they had numbers this Martian team didn’t cause enough damage to hamper the human forces. It would come back to bite them in the next engagement.
