Actually, #1 has me.
PM to you to save the surprize for others?

Well and truly stumped. Thought one of them was a p.51 but looked again and wasn't sure
#1 has me. I think I have the last 3 but...
OK, I receivede 3 PM: Karl, Chee and Peter. So far Karl is leading with 3/4 and the fastest answer
Hmm, Chee & Hokusai pointed me my trouble with #3. I'm suddenly I'm not as sure as I've been before. Let's finish it today (23:59 CET) which one #3 is.
I don't know canopies well enough without references.
I'd think #1 is a P-51D Mustang
#2 is a P-39 Airacobra (sort-of confident. Prepared to be wrong, though)
#3 no clue. Prepared to be embarassed.
#4 is a Corsair. Another complete guess, but I'm not Googling it.

Stumped me, my feeble mind only came up with
#1 - P-51D Mustang
#2 - P-39 Airacobra (the only one I'm confident on)
#3 - not sure at all, maybe a late mark Spitfire/Seafire
#4 - Wildcat ? Looks a bit Navy !

OK, let's finish this trivia. Here is my original list, bellow my doubts:
- P-51D Mustang (but I understand mirror can confuse an observer),
- P-39 Lightning (all of you identified it correctly)
- P-38 Aircobra (see bellow)
- F6F Hellcat
Which one confused me:
- No doubts.
- No doubts.
- Some of you wrote F8F Bearcat and I guess it could be right - When I looked back, I realized that I was missing the angled bars in cockpit of P-38. So could it be Bearcat?
- No doubts.
So what do you think, fellow pilots?
Nice one Dan, alas the answers had been posted before I got a chance to reply (which saved me from some embarrassment, lol)_
