“Raid on New Guinea”
This was a game which unfortunately only attracted 4 sign-ups, so we waited a short while to see whether anyone passing by would like to join.
When play commenced, it was decided that there were not enough players to intercept the B-25s as planned, so that scenario was dropped in favour of a straight-up dogfight, two vs two.
Lovely mat!
My good (evil?) self in the “off-white” ‘Zeke’ with a red fuselage band – my first ever outing in this type of plane. You might say I had “Zero” previous experience?
Oh, no! My wingman in flames – not good news.
My opponent and I cannot target each other on this pass.
The other Aussie can chase me, though.
No guns-on-target for me here, either.
NOW I get a shot in…
…then I overcook the follow-up – Damn but these P-40s are fast!
My wingman goes down.
Then his respawn appears.
An interested passer-by is roped in too!
Just as well, for at this point I get chopped! (Kills 0, Shot Down #1)
A close-run head-to-head!
Jockeying for position.
“BOOM” One for His Majesty the Emperor!
The other Aussie is chasing after me.
Our new arrival cuts him off.
The Aussie respawn arrives…
…is he trying to land on the airstrip?
I Immelmann and catch him. My respawned wingman exchanges fire with the other P-40.
Everyone survives!
Until, that is, the passer-by latecomer goes down!
TIME!
A clear Allied victory.
