Any idea why the Spitfire Mk. I is climb rate 4 and the Bf. 109 E-3 and the Hawker Hurricane Mk. I are climb rate 3? I thought the Spitfire could climb just as well as the Messerschmitts which was an advantage over the Hurricane.

I think it's just a typo. IIRC Spitfire I climb rate was 3 in the Nexus edition, changed to 4 by Ares. In the WGS unofficial aircraft spreadsheet, which also lists the official aircraft, Spitfires I and II models all have climb rate of 3.
Some of us think that the climb rate of 4 refers to the very early Mk.1 Spitfires with the fixed pitch propeller and that a climb rate of 3 is appropriate by the time of the Battle of Britain.
