Excellent result!

The paint job and build look fine to me!
Was the decal problem with handling/application, or with the final "finish" of the decals when in position?
(I've got some Zvesdas, but haven't started any as yet).

Very smart result.

What is your decal problem? I also have some of these in the painting queue.
Very nice plane. It looks a little cold over the green mat.
Brilliant work Cedric. Is that a wash or dry brush technique?
Very nice, Cedric

Great-looking plane, Cedric!
Hi,
My decals problems came with the difficulty of making my owns. I needed to print on a white decal sheet and its always a bad idea because it's difficult to transfert white sheet decals on painted models.
I used a wash technic with art oil and light White Spirit. You have to be very careful with this technic wich work pretty well on 1/48 models but not that much on 1/200.
Cedric
Not that I model much, but perhaps this technique could help?
1. Paint the area where the decal will be placed with gloss clear paint, if you've used matt paint colors. This gives a better, smoother, surface for the decal to sit on, and allows the decal to adhere to the surface better. Some modelers spray the entire model, for a more even surface over the entire model, but that is up to you.
2. Apply decal, let dry.
3. Spray matt clear over decal. This will protect the decal, and will keep the decal from having a frosted appearance that usually occurs with camouflaged paint schemes (using matt paints). If you've sprayed the entire model with gloss clear, mask off the areas you want to keep gloss, and matt clear spray the entire model.
4. Apply weathering. This can now be done without damage to the decals, as they will be protected by the matt clear coat(s).
5. If desired, another matt clear coat to protect the weathering? Remove the masking on the gloss clear areas.
