I missed your Felixstowe Kev, but please include this magnificent bird to the Rep I sent you for all your other offerings today.
Rob.
I've finally finished my latest project - six days its taken me to get these chequers right
I must say I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out
This also marks the end of my Christmas Shapeways painting binge!
It don't suprise me Dave. Why do you think I went for red and white stripes on mine.
Still persistance has brought its own reward with a superb outcome.
Well done that man.
Rob.
Thats lovely!
Wow that's a cracker of a plane Cyril, lovely paint job I wish I was that skilful.
An impressive first post, keep up the good work.
Don
A brilliant piece of work Cyril. And welcome to the Drome.
Please do post on the Report for Duty thread and let the other pilots know that you have landed.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Now that is just plain good Cyril
Thanks for your supporting messages !
Absolutely stunning!
I shall add one to my christmas list
Cyril that's an amazing colour scheme
Another great piece of work you have there. I'd love to play some games at your table.
Cyril, brilliant!
Here's my two Felixstowes, a Red Eagle and a Shapeways:
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Very neat renditions Steve.
It certainly shows up the corrugated cardboard wings on the Red Eagle.

My first Felixstowe. I much prefer the look of the later version, but the dazzle schemes were a little too intimidating at the time . I've gotten a second one since, however, and since it's also a late bird, dazzle will be the order of the day for it. Shapeways by Colinwe, crew from Reviresco, paint primarily Vallejo, and decals 1/72 Microscale.
Looks fine to me Darryl, and with both colour schemes you will be able to cover the whole period of service.

A mighty fine flying boat, Darryl.
Mine...
And my kids shooting me down...
Twice.
Looks like a cheerleading practice in midair!
Great dazzle camouflage, John.
If you'd stayed over the sea they would never have seen you John.
As it was you stood out like a Zebra on the Kalahari.
So much for superb paint schemes like yours.
Rob.

Thanks. They are such amazing machines... gotta love 'em.
It reminds me very much of something I just saw.
Very nice work Cole.

VERY nice! Well done, that man!
Thanks guys! It'll be nice to have for some naval action. Now my Brandenburg has something to shoot at!
Might be a bit one sided Cole.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Well I like the one you did for me David and it has not been shot down in a game yet despite the Brandenburgers. Just simply fly around in circles and let them come to you
This is definitely a plane I want to add to my collection at some point in the future - such neat color schemes available for it!
The work you've done on these is wonderful, lads
All the best,
Matt
Good to see more Felixstowe's Dave.
It has been too long between posts here.

Could someone recommend where I find roundels suitable to use on the Shapeways Felixstowe? Looks like I need 2 cm versions for the top wing and 1.5 cm versions for the bottom wing...did you folks use 1/72 decals, perhaps, to get the size, or did you make your own?
Any help would be appreciated!
All the best,
Matt
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Thanks, Tim! I have ordered from him before, but I must have missed the H-P decals when I went through his listings earlier...
I shall order myself a set
All the best,
Matt
Superb Matt. Where did you find this scheme?
Thanks, Peter
I was just searching Google images for the Felixstowe and found this link http://www.hyperscale.com/2015/featu...towe32ls_1.htm from a fellow who had built the Wingnuts model - it's a superb series of pictures of his build of the kit...seems he has built models for the British Museum... The scheme is one of the five included in the Wingnuts kit.
With a guide like that to follow, it just became a matter of how much did I want to try and replicate.
All the best,
Matt

This is the first time I've seen this scheme. Quite different from the red or blue dazzle. I really like it! I have a Shapeways Felixstowe to do but now am torn on which scheme...might have to get another.
