Great stuff as always Michal
That Albatros looks fabulous Michal.
Beautiful work... outstanding. I'm a fan.
Nice work indeed! I printed out that profile as I wanted to paint that one up as well some day. I just love the scheme on it!
My latest DVa with Cal Faber decals

Decals from Cal Fabers DV set 1
Very nice Darell and Chris.
I really enjoy German color schemes - anything but boring.
I do like the stripes one Darell not dared have a go at this one yet. Are the stripes decals or a steady hand?
Super work Darell.
Yes, please do tell us more about the skull and the stripes.
I have tried to get oblique striped decals onto fuselages and working out the actual spiral curve for a diminishing sized cigar shape is very difficult.
Rob.
To Chris also. I painted fuselage black over all. Engine, struts landing gear and lower wing removed. Cut 2mm strip Tayima tape and wound it from front to rear another strip 1mm wide same thing . Then painted white, remove tape reassemble. Not sure what skull your asking about?
You make it sound so easy Darell!
I know how difficult it is to apply even tape to a diminishing surface, never mind keeping two strips parallel.
I think Eric was on about Michael's skulls.
Thanks for the reply.
Rob.
I see 1/144 direct does stripe decals and I think Cal does also, now to drum up courage
Another one for Jasta 5
Ltn Heinrich Bussing my source shows this on an Ablatross DIII but thought it would be the same on a DV
Very nice Chris.
Give me a high five.
Rob.
She's beautiful Rob.
Here are some great Planes, i like the Albatros, their modern Form
A couple of Jasta 5:
Vfw Fritz Rumey Decals from 1-144 Direct
Vfw Josef Mai Decals from the drome and Reverisco
Tony
Two more very delightful aircraft Tony.
I have always liked Rumey's checker pattern. If I do any more Jasta 5 models it will certainly include that one.
Rob.
Fantastic , i like Kurt Minington and his Albatros, you paint the skull by hand ?or is this a copy ?o

Matthias
Another cracking beastie Matthias. The maroon and green is very eye catching.
Rob.
Below is my first repaint for Jasta 5, and touched up Von Hippel's and Baumer's paint jobs to get the color schemes more in line to what is posted on the net. Von Hippel's, I changed the fuselage to grey from the light blue and added red rings to the front and rear prior to the tail. Baumer's plane I repainted the struts, and repainted the fuselage where it would be just a wood color. The repaint it possible that this is a Joseph Mai machine prior to the addition of its crescent moon and star. I'm going to try to to represent as many of the Albatross's present at the Boistrancourt aerodrome in July of 1917.
John
Yes John, you have certainly made a very good job of those machines. I look forward to seeing any additions you make in the future.
Thanks for posting.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Really impressive paint jobs one and all.
I'm glad to fly for the Central Powers because these planes are far too pretty to shoot at!
Chris, I thought about it, but I figured I could do it without that. Thanks for your comment.
Rob, thanks, and I figured I could produce 5 more at least with what decals are available and what paint jobs I can reproduce. After that I'll have to look into some way of getting some one of decals printed.
Nick, thanks, I'm the only one in the family that has mainly Central Power planes, so at least I won't have to shoot down my own work!!
John
Well done Darell.
You have coped well with a tricky set of decals.
Rob.
