The B deck - one I would say is not coveted by most Wings players because it doesn't have those sexy curves or sharp sideslips, but if players use this deck as the planes were used, with a lot of diving and climbing, it is one that can be used successfully. B deck planes are the Albatros D.III (Oef 153), Albatros D.V and D.Va, Caudron R.11, SPAD C.VII, and Airco DH.9A. These are all solid offerings, but with the gaps in my collection leaning towards ...

Campaign Thoughts I - The Wright Flight have been talking for some time about doing a campaign, allowing players to develop a pilot persona that would carry over from gaming session to gaming session. One of the members suggested using the American 94th Aero and picking a German Jasta as their counterparts. If we do a campaign based on the 94th Aero, some factors to be considered before even delving into how would we track kills, earn Ace skills, set up scenarios ...
  3. Scenario - April 14th, 1918

Taken heavily from Billy's Boys by Mike Clinton, modified a bit with information gleaned from Nieuport 28: America's First Fighter by Theodore Hamady, and filled in with a bit of fluff from USAS 1st Pursuit Group by Jon Guttman, this is my Wings of Glory interpretation of the first encounter of the 94th Aero Squadron's first encounter over the Toul Sector.

The 94th Aero Squadron, known as the Hat in the Ring Gang, moved to Gengoult Aerodrome from Villeneuve on April 9th, 1918. The ...
  4. Some Updates

It has been a bit since I have posted to the blog, so perhaps a bit of an update is due....

I have been slowly reading Theodore Hamady's The Nieuport 28: America's First Fighter and it is changing the way I think about the N28 and how it should be rated in Wings of War/Glory. When the Americans are first deployed to the front, the N28 was equipped with one Vickers machinegun. That means B Deck. In reading pilot accounts it could seemingly dogfight with the best of the German aircraft, ...
  5. Two More Scenarios, Better Personal Success!
